Curious But Cautious: My Unfiltered Thoughts on the Movie Franchise- Hell House LLC (1 & 2)

Where curiosity meets faith and fear lurks just beyond the lens.

Intro: Fear, Faith & Fascination

I’ll be honest, I am terrified of haunted houses. Like, the kind of scared where I’ll be halfway through the entrance line already planning my exit route. 😅

But here’s the twist: I’m also drawn to them.

There’s something about the mystery, the stories, the history, the energy. My mom and I used to go on ghost tours and even visit old cemeteries to take pictures, hoping to catch a glimpse of something otherworldly. One of our favorites was in Salem, Massachusetts; eerie, yes, but also incredibly spiritual.

Even though I’m a Christian and deeply believe in good and evil, that curiosity has never left me. I would never want to provoke anything dark or demonic, but exploring these stories from a respectful distance? That’s my kind of thrill.

And that’s exactly what led me to Hell House LLC movies.

Hell House LLC (2015): The Calm Before the Curse

So let’s start with a little review/recap of the first movie in the franchise. A group of friends decide to open a haunted attraction inside the abandoned Abaddon Hotel. Sounds like a dream project for thrill-seekers, until the dream turns into something straight out of a nightmare.

This movie feels too real. The found-footage style makes it look like something we weren’t supposed to see. The scares aren’t flashy, they creep up on you slowly, like shadows moving just outside the light.

And those clown mannequins? No thank you.

What really hooked me wasn’t the horror itself, but the energy of the hotel. It feels alive, like it’s feeding off fear. That’s when it hit me, this isn’t just a haunted house movie; it’s a story about how darkness lingers when it’s invited in. Take notes! Don't summon evil crap!

By the end, I was equal parts terrified and intrigued.

I was left asking questions like what  happened inside that basement? And what kind of evil could twist a place that much? I think this movie was well made and kept you on the edge of your seat. It left me absolutely wanting to watch more but from the comfort of my couch. In my unfiltered and unedited opinion, this movie reminded me of the Blair Witch documentary with its “realness” feeling. If you didn’t know it was a movie….it would truly have you believing that this was a true documentary of found footage. I felt this way even more so after I watched the second one, knowing already that this movie is NOT real.

Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel (2018)

This time, a team of journalists decides to return to the Abaddon to uncover the truth behind the tragedies. As a naturally curious person, I understood the impulse, but as a Christian, I was practically shouting at the screen:

“If it feels evil, don’t go in!”

This film digs deeper into the hotel’s cursed past, showing that the evil inside isn’t random, it’s purposeful. You can almost sense it manipulating people to enter.

By the end, I wasn’t just scared; I was reflective. Evil doesn’t always need to jump out at you. Sometimes it just waits… quietly… until you come looking for it. Again, no thank you! I’m all about investigations, but when it comes to evil crap….im a firm believer in leave it the hey hey alone!

Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire (Coming Next)

Now, I haven’t hit play on the third one yet, but from what I know, it’s supposed to bring the story full circle.

A new production team decides to stage one last show inside the Abaddon Hotel.

Because apparently, some people never learn. 😬

If this movie is anything like the first two, I’m expecting more than just jump scares — I’m expecting answers.

What happens when people try to make entertainment out of evil?

Maybe some doors aren’t meant to be reopened.

Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor (2023) & HELL HOUSE LLC LINEAGE (2025)

Haven’t watched them yet, so stay tuned! It may be a hot minute as I might need a break to cleanse my soul and calm my nerves lol!

Final Thoughts

Watching Hell House LLC left me with chills, not just from the scares, but from the truth woven through them.

It’s a vivid reminder that darkness is real… but so is light.

That curiosity is good, until it crosses into places it shouldn’t.

And that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is pray, turn on every light in your house, grab a glass of wine and remember who's ultimately in control.

“Curious. Scared. Faith-filled. That’s how I watch horror."
